SCADA as an abbreviated technical wording and terminology stands for (supervisory control and data acquisition)
SCADA systems Uses PLC's (Programmable logic controllers), controllers panels and varies types of instruments ( scales, gauges, smart sensors, valves, gates, machines, terminals and scanners ), to send and transmit signals (Data) and communicate with computers and its control application software packages via multi networking platforms, to do Multifunction I/O (Input/Output) systems and signals for measuring, monitoring and controlling temperatures, pressures, strains, voltages, currents, and flow rates on real time. SCADA systems are used in power plants, oil and gas production and refining, telecommunications and transportation, as well as, in water and waste control. SCADA products can be implemented and deployed in an extensive range of applications including hardware and software for PC-based and networked data acquisition devices or systems (barcode data collections, networked data terminals, signal conditioning, and signal processing, machine monitoring, automatic testing, process automation, factory floor data collection and product tracking, as well as remote and portable data acquisition systems for either Analog or Digital I/O signals.
